Local stars: Panamanian Jorge Heilbron won Best Panamanian and his age group at 3:08:20. The best female Panamanian, and first in her age group, was Marisa Díaz, at 3:51:21. She missed the competition from fellow Panamanian Patricia Quijano, who had to withdraw due to tendonitis. Also first in her age group, and fourth woman across the line, was Panama’s Isabel de Obaldía.
