Lesson 12: Look both ways!

Dear Sparky,

I should have trusted my mom's advice. From the time I was just a little mutt, she cautioned us pups to look both ways before crossing the street. Well, I didn't, and now I'm paying the price. It all happened when my master inadvertently left the gate open – something he never does. I should've known better than to blatantly venture forth, but the scent was so enticing that I sniffed my way out the yard and into the street. I don't remember much after the horn blast, and the vet says I should be grateful to be alive. I guess I'll be wearing this cast for a few more weeks. The itching is maddening.

So Sparky, I want to warn all my canine buddies: Look before you sniff!
