Auditions at the Guild

DATE: Thursday, June 21, 2001
TIME: 7-9 p.m.
PLACE: The Theatre Guild of Ancon (located next to the Fiscalia Auxiliar/PTJ Balboa)

The Theatre Guild of Ancon will begin its 52nd season with a play directed by Bill Gonzalez. "DINNER WITH FRIENDS," written by Donald Margulies and winner of the 2000 Pulitzer Prize, is a dark comedy about marriage and friendship in the age of divorce. The story unfolds as two couples with a happy history find one infidelity too much for the four of them to handle.

The show is scheduled to open Sept. 21 and will run Sept. 21, 22, 28, 29 and Oct. 5-6, 2001.

Rehearsals will begin on a flexible schedule in late July. At the very minimum, the actors need to clear their travel schedules and be available most of August, all of September and the first week of October.

These characters are in their late 30s to early 40s, married with small children and have been friends since college. We need FOUR ACTORS: TWO MEN AND TWO WOMEN, between the ages of 25-45, who can be made to look older or younger.

The auditions are very informal and no preparation is necessary. Please be on time and wear comfortable shoes and clothing. We’ll be doing readings directly from the script.

We look forward to seeing you on THURSDAY, JUNE 21, 7 p.m. at the Guild.

We are also looking for co-producers, backstage, property and scene-painting assistance, so please don’t hesitate to get involved.

The Theatre Guild has been an all-volunteer effort for almost 52 years. We always need help! To volunteer, get directions to the theater or for more information call Catherine Hopkins at 264-8562 or email: clhopkins@hotmail.com
