Panama is the scene of intense rivalry between Taiwan and China --- we maintain relations with the former, which the latter want us to break. The Chinese fight the battle on the cultural front as well, for example by sponsoring a Chinese film festival at the Cine Universitario. Above is a scene from "Magic Shadows."
