Theatre Guild staged reading of "Fool for Love" on July 10
Dear Theater Lovers,
Please join us at the Theatre Guild of Ancon on Wednesday, July 10, at 8 p.m. for "FOOL FOR LOVE," the second staged reading in our "Great American Playwrights Series."
The play begins in a motel room on the edge of the Mojave Desert with Eddie and May, a pair caught in an on again / off again romance of emotional need and sexual addiction. Eddie has followed May to her newest residence. Enter Martin, May’s date for the evening, and the stories begin to fly. Frank Rich of the New York Times in 1983 called "FOOL FOR LOVE" a "western of our time. We watch a pair of figurative gunslingers fight to the finish --- not with guns, but with piercing words that give ballast to the weight of a nation’s dreams."
