Gabriela Sosa, a Panamanian living and working as a journalist in Los Angeles, California, was honored along with the rest of the KMEX-TV channel 34 morning news team when their show "Primera Edicion" won the LA Area Emmy for the best daytime newscast. Sosa anchors the "Ventana al Futuro" segments for the Spanish-language news show.

In addition to her part on the newscasts with the Univision affiliate station, Sosa acts and heads MOLA Productions, which derives its name not only from the Kuna art reverse applique art form but also as an acronym for Movies On Latin America and Latin Americans.
