Pick of the Litter
Dear Dr. Sparky,
I have three brothers and two sisters. They are bigger than me. They make fun of me. Spot called me a runt. I barked at him. Fred wouldn't let me eat so I tried to bite him. Mom fussed at me. I'm sad and hungry. I'm little. What can I do?
Tiny in Toronto
Dear Tiny,
Don't worry about being called runt. Names don't make the dog. If your family lives with humans, bark when they come around. Lick their fingers. Nip at their toes. Nuzzle their legs. Humans like that and will think you're cute. Whatever you do, don't let Fred or anybody else stop you from eating. Fight hard for your food. It's important. You may not grow real big, but you will grow up. You will be okay. Take care and don't cry.
