Cool Internet sites

Henry Morgan, a Welsh Buccaneer

http://www.data-wales.co.uk/morgan.htm

Panamanians consider him an English pirate, others prefer to think of him as the Lieutenant Governor of Jamaica, but this site celebrates the guy who sacked Portobelo, Fort San Lorenzo and Panama Viejo as one of history's greatest Welshmen.

iBipolar.com

http://www.ibipolar.com/

Your editor could have done well to look up this site these past few weeks. Touch the right "button" when doing business with a manic depressive and you may well encounter the Negotiator From Hell. But if you are that sharp dealer's worst nightmare, it's not fun not sleeping that night. Anyway, this is one of many good sites for people with bipolar disorder, or manic depression, brought to you for pecuniary reasons by one of the big multinational drug companies.

Ramadan

http://www.islaam.com/Section.aspx?id=13

Islam's month of fasting is upon us, and you can find out what it's all about at this site. The "Non-Muslims" link on this page is also the gateway for a very complete explanation of that branch of Abraham's (or Ibrahim's) monotheism that has a billion adherents in this world.

SaludPanama.net

http:/www.saludpanama.net

We generally don't list Spanish-language sites, but after all much of our readership is bilingual and a small part of it reads Spanish but not English. This Panamanian medical site, with listings for a lot of specialists in many fields, ought to have an English section because Panamanian health care is much more affordable than in the US and in most fields just as good. We really ought to promote health care tourism, but in this administration and the previous one the emphasis has been on experimental, heterodox or downright quack practitioners. This is different. For example, you won'f find crystal healers here, but you will find some good plastic surgeons.

Submarine Warfare

http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ship/submarine.htm

A comprehensive introduction to the subject of warfare under the waves, brought to you by the Federation of American Scientists.
