Of course you don't have to get out of town to enjoy the outdoors --- Panama City is vast, has some wonderful developed parks and includes a few patches of jungle that the developers have yet to destroy. And then there is the courtyard at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute's Tupper Center, on the site of the old Tivoli Hotel in Ancon, from whence these photos come to you.

The center gets its name from Earl S. Tupper, who made a lot of money creating and selling Tupperware and donated a good share of it to the Smithsonian's scientific work in Panama.
