The grass may be brown and many trees may have shed their foliage, but just because it's the tail end of dry season does not mean that nothing's in bloom. Panama has orchids for all seasons. Although the cloud forests of Volcan Baru and the Caribbean lowlands are the best places to find orchids in the wild, a lot of people grow them and you can find many in the capital. These specimens grow in the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute's Tupper Center garden. In the banking district, you will find an impressive orchid display in the lobby of the Hotel Bristol.
