The arrival of rainy season traditionally marks the end of tourist season. However, more and more tourists are coming to Panama to see a rainforest during the rainy season, and moreover, this is Panama's Centennial Year.

The next great wave of tourists will be coming here for the Miss Universe pageant, which culminates in Panama City on June 3. The first beauty queen, Miss Taiwan Beverly Chen Szu-Yu, is already in Panama, not only getting ready for the competition but promoting continued good relations between the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Republic of Panama.
