Lessons in Assertiveness

Signs of the Times
Dear Dr. Mutt,
WLast night when I made my rounds before hitting the sack, I saw the strangest looking sled dogs on the roof. They had antlers, and the lead dog's nose glowed a bright red! I barked a signal, but they didn't respond. Then all of a sudden, a big fat guy carrying a sack came out of the chimney, hopped onto the sled, and off they went into the sky! I couldn't believe my eyes!
I barked loud and long --- until the master finally opened the window. When I tried to tell him there was a thief on the roof, and he got away in a sled pulled by flying dogs with antlers, he just yelled at me to go back to bed.
I don't understand, Doc. I know what I saw. Please tell me I'm not crazy.
Dear Dazed,
No, you're not crazy. What happened was you witnessed a drop-off. It's perfectly legit, though. The fat guy and his reindeer (the dogs with antlers) are contracted to travel around the world once a year to drop off gifts to well-behaved little humans. However, I have no idea why he goes down the chimney. You'd think the door would be safer and easier. Who knows? Maybe it's part of his contract, but it's a human thing, and it's one method they use to try to make the world a better place.
Actually, there have been very few sightings of this guy and his team, so you are one lucky dog!
