Dear Dr. Mutt,
I was born with the biggest ears in the world. They drag on the ground when I walk. They are such a hindrance that I step on them when I try to run and chase the birds. I heard that there is an operation that can reduce and re-shape my big floppy ears and make them into trim, smart-looking amplifiers. What would you advise?
Dear Amplified,
You don't mention your breed, but actually that is not too important. What IS important, however, is how you feel about yourself. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, and if you behold yourself as not so nice, then you must do something about that image, and you have two options.
First, you could convince your master that you urgently need corrective surgery. This would not be easy because you would have to convince him that surgery is necessary. No easy task, unless you have a dog-human translator.
Second, you could change your personal perspective. This would involve dedication, drive and determination to accept yourself for what you are. This is the most difficult of the two choices, but probably the least painful but the most rewarding. So think long and hard on this before you decide.
