Open studio in Plaza Francia
photos by Eric Jackson
There was a conflict in information about the time, complicated by a conflicting event at the same time. Thus this reporter just got to see that part of the April 7 "Open Studio" show in Plaza Francia that was set up early. It was still worth it.

Do I get to play deconstructionist and trump the artist's idea with my impression? Why would Rodney Zelenka ever agree to that --- I might say it's a multimedia improvisation on Frank Zappa's "Stinkfoot."

Breathing in the dust from those carbonized fossils will give you black lung disease.

Meanwhile, Eduardo Navarro's horse was less abstract...

...than some of the other works.

Was one of these kids inspired to a life of artistic creativity? That in itself would make the whole event worth it.
