Let it rain
Water is the natural resource that drives Panama's modern and traditional economies. It takes 52 million gallons of rainwater to put a ship through the Panama Canal, our agriculture is acclimated to heavy rains and without all that runoff through the mangrove swamps our fisheries would collapse. The heaviest rainfall will happen between about the middle of October and the middle of December, but dry season is definitely over now. There are those of us locals who prefer the rainy season, when shades of green reclaim their privileged places in the landscape. Every year more tourists come during rainy season, when it's cheaper to visit. Some of them visit now precisely because they want to experience a rain forest during the rainy season.
