Cool Internet sites

All Free Dictionaries Project
http://www.fdicts.com/

A comprehensive collection of free online bilingual dictionaries and translation programs.

Ancon Theater Guild
http://www.theaterguildpanama.com

Panama's English-language theater organization changed their website some time back but just now got around to telling the press about the change. It seems that they're now using the American rather than British spelling --- though not consistently --- to describe themselves. This is a site to bookmark, and an organization in which people with a wide range of talents --- not just acting --- should get involved.

British Pteridological Society
http://www.nhm.ac.uk/hosted_sites/bps/bps.htm

Do they still have fern bars anymore? In any case, this site is for people whose interest in ferns goes well beyond as a backdrop for their drinking binges.

The Shipwreck at Playa Damas
http://www.archaeologychannel.org/content/video/vizcaina_300kW.html

Is it Columbus's caravel the Vizcaina, or merely the rare and valuable remains of an early 16th century ship? Watch the Archaeology Channel's video about it and follow the other links at this site.

Virtual Visit to the Gorée Island House of Slaves
http://webworld.unesco.org/goree/

A UNESCO website about The Gate Through Which Nobody Returned. A lot of Panamanian and American families' ancestors went through this notorious place off the Senegalese coast.
