Are we dealing with a werewolf here, or, worse yet, a weresheep?

People needed onstage and backstage
for the next Theatre Guild play

Hi all,

Theatre Guild Ancon are to do a play in March which is a very funny melodrama called "The Beast of Ghastly Manor."

Its not a murder mystery, but very like it.

It is a melodrama mystery with a couple of deaths or so in it.

It is very funny with some brilliant lines.

It needs to be played a bit "tongue in cheek" very much like the last murder mystery play we did in November that was so popular with our audience.

The play is about a mad doctor's (Dr. Ghastly) daughter who is holding a party at "Ghastly Manor" for several of her "with it" friends.

The doctor has a butler (Wilson) and an assistant (Egor) to help him with his plans to produce a super growth serum with government funding. The super growth serum gets out into the farm animals and breeds a monster "chicken" which wreaks havoc about the place when let loose by Egor.

The butler is the doctor's estranged wife in disguise (played by two people of similar build) and there is a later "switch" between these two characters.

A good old British bobby arrives to sort out the problems of missing (probably eaten by the chicken) guests and the shenanigans between the various guests each pursuing there own aims in their love life relationships, whilst being scared out of their wits by the shadow of the beast and a very stormy night for the party.

Secret passages and panels add to the fun. Quite a lot is played outside the manor in the audience.

There are seven male characters and four female.

We will be holding auditions Wednesday and Thursday 12th and 13th January at the Guild and would love for you to come along and take part in some way.

We will need three backstage crew, one sound and one lighting crew.

There will be 25 rehearsals starting Monday 24th January circa 7:00 p.m.

Rehearsals need not always be at the Guild if it's more convenient to meet up in the city center. My apartment and social area can be utilized.

I will be directing this one and John and Gale will help with production, supported by the rest of the board to be sure it all gets good publicity.

You can sell benefit night tickets which cost you $6 each, but you sell for $10 keeping the profits for yourselves. You each get two free tickets to give to friends or family.

Benefit night tickets are only issued when 50 percent of the cost is paid before the show and the balance before or on the night of the show concerned.

This is going to be a great end enjoyable show so please do come along and take part in whichever way you can.

Cheers for now.

Best Regards,

Vernon Skitt
