Manzanillo Island, a/k/a Colon
Colon city ---
which is but a relatively small part of the municipal
district of Colon --- used to be an island in a mangrove
swamp, but that was before a century and one-half of
landfilling made it into a peninsula. In the left
background is the Colon Free Zone, while off to the
right background you can see the northern entrance to
the Panama Canal.
