In 1605 the English-speaking world's great bard William Shakespeare was near the end of his brilliant writing career and a committee of some of England's great scholars was finishing the King James Bible with an eye toward literary standards set by Shakespeare. That year also saw the publication of the first part of what's arguably still the greatest work in the Spanish language, Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra's satirical Don Quixote. The Hispanic world, including Panama, is thus celebrating this masterpiece during this, the 400th anniversary of its publication.
