What does the government do when it seizes the products of illegal logging?

Generally they allocate the wood for public purposes, although over the years there have been exceptional scandals about building materials being diverted to private parties who don't need the subsidy.

In this case the National Environmental Authority (ANAM) turned this lumber seized in Bocas del Toro district of Chiriqui Grande over to the provincial representatives of the Housing Ministry (MIVI), who will in turn distribute it  to be used for housing improvements in the impoverished Ngobe-Bugle Comarca.
