Dear Dr. Mutt,

I have no pedigree, but my coat of long, fine fur implies that perhaps there was a bit of aristocracy in my blood line, and it was my pride and joy - until last week. I was doing my usual roll-overs in the grass for my master when the itching started. We took a quick trip to the vet, where I was dipped, drenched and barbered. Now I sport a crew cut, and I owe it all to a flea.

Be happy that your master was quick to react because those little buggers can be bothersome. They multiply faster than bunnies and make life miserable for any canine, no matter the pedigree. Your fur can always grow back, but I suggest you get used to your new look. You’ll be cooler, and the fleas will have no place to hide.
