A toucan in the wild photos by LA We confess. These photos of this Chestnut-mandibled toucan (Ramphastos swainsonii) were not taken in Panama, but just across the border in Costa Rica. The species is, however, quite common but still fun to encounter throughout many parts of Panama, particularly on the Atlantic side.
