Photo courtesy of GECU Milvia Martínez carries away top honors at Mar del Plata festival Panamanian contemporary dancer and choreographer Milvia Martínez recently brought home the top prize from the prestigious Mar del Plata Ibero-American cultural festival for her "Cabanga" dance show. It was touch-and-go whether she'd be able to get to Argentina for the competition at all, but at the last minute President Torrijos came up with the money to make up the budget shortfall. Considering the prestige that it brought to the Panamanian arts scene, it would be hard to argue that it wasn't money well invested.
