Who Will Pick Up the Do Do?

It is there in the center of the floor
An act of rage
No greater and profound rejection
On the page
Of futile gestures to be a part of
This day's keeping,
An offering
So inward
Toward indifference felt
By systems so revered
And protected,
That it is infected
With neglect for the poet
Who has come right out with it
And left everything
And wants everything
In return. 

Who will pick it up, and show others
And respond with understanding
And love?
