Hairy Scary

Dear Dr. Mutt,

I met this strange fellow in the park the other day. He had a full head of fur, but his body was shaved and painted orange. He tried to talk to me, but my mistress screamed and yanked me away. I’ve never seen a dog like him before. He wasn’t that bad looking. Why did my mistress do that? What’s wrong with her?

Dear Intrigued,

Nothing is wrong with your mistress. She did the right thing by yanking you away. Unfortunately, your new-found friend sounds like he may have a bad case of the mange, a highly contagious skin infection. Don’t go near the guy until he’s cured. For his sake, let’s hope it doesn’t take long.
