Leroy
Makay, PanCanal firefighter We regret to announce the passing of our friend and co-worker, ex-member of the Panama Canal Commision Fire Department Mr. Leroy Makay. Mac was transferred from the MTD in Cristobal to the Fire Department’s Cristobal District in 1985. He also worked out of the Gamboa Fire station. His duties included EMT and also being a member of the elite Hazardous Material Team (HazMat) Pedro Miguel West. He was promoted to Driver Operator and also Acting and Relief Seargeant. He was born in the city of Colon on January 5, 1945 and retired from the Division in 1998. Funeral Services were held at the Christ Church by the Sea in Colon. May his soul rest in peace.
