In the USA, hardly anyone has heard of Grupo Tuira. However, a lot of people have heard them and not realized it. Band leader Rómulo Castro is the author of the title cut to the Grammy-winning Rubén Blades album "La Rosa de los Vientos," and Grupo Tuira backs Blades in that particular track of the album.

Recently Grupo Tuira was at XOKO in El Cangrejo, recording a live CD. When itn is released it's likely that The Panama News will review it.
