Dear Dr. Mutt,

Why is it that humans think that we canines like to dress up like they do? I can understand a jacket and mittens if we lived on a farm in Minnesota, but we live in the Tropics so it’s not like we need to protect ourselves from inclement weather, and besides we have FUR. My mistress went on a shopping spree and actually paid money for a little western outfit, but when she tried to get me to wear it, I growled at her. So now I’m punished. Am I wrong to feel angry? I’m a watch-dog. I don’t want to wear clothes. It’s un-canine!

Dear Cranky,

Humans are strange beings. They walk on two legs and look down on anyone else who can’t or doesn’t want to. They get a kick out of forcing others to do what they say. They call it training. As long as you do a good job, I see no need for you to wear a costume. Stick to your guns!
