In the slow season, but up more than 81% over last year

Yes, Internet usage goes down in June, July and August compared to most other months, as it does in December. People who are on vacation are less likely to log onto the World Wide Web. We expect and encounter that trend at The Panama News.

However in June of 2006 we had 70,410 visits, from at least 36,258 unique visitors. (Surely more than that, as some Internet Service Providers block that information and on some computers more than one person reads The Panama News.) In June of 2005 --- which was a relatively high readership month for the summertime due to the protests over the Torrijos administration's Seguro Social changes --- we had 38,813 visits, from at least 26,248 unique visitors.

Thus the readership of The Panama News keeps growing, and a larger percentage of our readers are regulars who click onto every issue.

The Panama News has a policy of periodically releasing our download figures as we get them from our web server. The copyright pirate and ad cartel supported publications with whom we compete for advertisers are much less candid, but in the long run people who are serious about reaching real customers will figure out the difference between candor and juega vivo.

Every publication has its unique demographics and there is no "one medium fits all" way for an advertiser to reach a target audience, no matter what the folks at the ad agencies may tell you. The Panama News is a good way to reach a lot of people, and we welcome inquiries by advertisers and potential advertisers who want more detailed information about our readership.
