Lessons in Assertiveness

Pork-loined
Dear Dr. Mutt, I have been accused of stealing, but I am not guilty. I was on my way home from my daily jaunts to inspect the fire hydrants when I spied this pork roast defrosting in the sun on the neighbor’s steps. I thought they had left it for me! I know they like me. They always say hi. Now the master’s real angry, and I have to do time behind the fence. This is so unfair! If they wanted that roast for themselves, why did they leave it outside? Roasted in Redondo
Dear Roasted, I’ve said it before, but it bears saying again – humans are not as intelligent as canines. Defrosting a pork roast outside on the steps indeed! That is just asking for trouble. A roast on the steps is fair game in my book. Your neighbors should know better. As for your master, he needs a lesson in Ancient Survival Techniques. He should appreciate your instinct. Then again, maybe he doesn’t want any more trouble with the neighbors. Hopefully you’ll be out and about soon. Sparky
