Whipper Snappers

Dear Dr. Mutt,

The mistress brought home another puppy. That makes five new mutts in the house this year, and she expects me to train each one. I’m overworked and definitely under-compensated. I can’t bear it anymore. They can’t follow instructions, and they don’t behave. If they were mine, it’d be different, but they won’t listen to me. The mistress said the more the merrier, that they’re little orphans like I was so I should be nice to them. Well, I’m not merry! Enough is enough. I’ve had it. I quit!

Dear Snapped,

Take it easy. Unlike many, your mistress seems like a kind and generous human with an open heart and gentle spirit. You could do a lot worse. It’s all a question of attitude. Granted, five is quite a few to train, but eventually the little mutts will learn, and they will love you for it, and there is nothing greater than love. So try to be of good cheer. Take back your resignation and join the party!
