Stormy Weather

 

Dear Dr. Mutt,

 

I live in the back yard. It’s not too bad when the sun is shining, but when those big dark clouds cover the sky, I have to look for cover. Yesterday when big bright lights flashed across the sky, I thought my number was up, but I hid in the cubbyhole where the master stores his tools just in time. All of a sudden, a huge explosion shook the earth and something fell on my head and knocked me out. When I woke up, I was all green and sticky so I rolled on the patio to try to clean myself, but that only made things worse. Then the master came out and chased me around the yard. He tied me up and hosed me down. Then he fussed at me. He called me names and said things I didn’t understand. Why? What did I do wrong, doc?

Dear Painted,

 

Relax, you didn’t do anything wrong. Panama is plagued with torrential rains and electrical storms, and you were smart to seek protection. Your master should try hiding in a cubbyhole. For your sake, I hope he wises up soon and provides you with emergency shelter at the very least.
