New mobility for the handicapped

We're seeing the proliferation of these blue curb cuts all over Panama City this dry season. While the nation has had barrier-free design laws on the books for many years now, they have largely been ignored by both public and private entities. This project may be modest enough, but it's an important breakthrough in public policies to include people in wheelchairs in our society and economy. Photo by Eric Jackson
