The heirs Panama's Cimarron culture that was founded by slaves of the Spaniards who ran away and set up African-style villages in the jungle will be strutting their stuff at the Portobelo Diablo and Congo Festival, to be held on March 3.

Because of the huge crowds and traffic jams at previous events they're making changes to the way that this one will be organized. You may not be able to get into the main event at Fort San Geronimo if you don't get there early, but there will be congo dancing, diablito displays and other events elsewhere in the little Atlantic side town on that day.
