What finer, more considerate, more helpful, more morally correct representative could sardines have? He was the very embodiment of sardine excellence, a credit to his school and his species.
But the evil queen didn't want to hear any of that. The word came down from on high --- OFF WITH HIS HEAD!
And so they killed him --- but the insult didn't end there. Instead of giving him a proper Christian burial --- let alone allowing his family and friends time to gather for the burial at sea that's customary among sardines --- they held a wild, boisterous, disrespectful party in which a lot of people were drinking, then put him in the ground with weird pagan ritual.
And so ended another year's Carnival....
