Attention Deficit

 

Dear Dr. Mutt,

My master calls me to his side, commands me to sit, and then pets my head. This is the routine. It never varies. Given that routine, who can pay attention for long? Life is boring. I have to jump for biscuits and sit for snacks. What can I do to add spice to my life?

Dear Deceived,

I must agree that your life is stretched with the mundane, but it doesn’t have to be banal and boring. You could bury your biscuits for a rainy day, or you could save them for the less fortunate. Of course, if you do this, you would have to find a way to get your donations to those who need them, but maybe you could get your mistress involved in this process by leaving a biscuit on her desk every day. Who knows, humans are pretty smart, and she may catch on…
