A safety made most

of the difference

The FSU-Panama Seminoles got back on top of this country's American football scene by beating the Saints 9-6 in the May 20 Panama Football League championship game at Balboa Stadium. As in a touchdown with conversion plus a safety as against a touchdown with a failed conversion attempt.

Last year FSU had a passing-oriented attack which in the end was not enough to repeat their 2005 championship. This year Eric Holland's squad had a more balanced attack, but in the end it came down to a defensive battle for bragging rights in a league that little by little is showing more parity in the performances of most of its teams.
