 Navy League Second Tuesday Dinner

We have a very special evening in store for you.

First, there will be an exclusive tour of the UMIP's Panamax Engineering Room Simulator in the former Canal Zone printing plant. This is where cadets learn about engine room operations and go through training drills to become engineering officers on Panamax ships.

After the tour, we will have dinner in another of the facility's large rooms where the school's chefs will prepare a delicious dinner for all.

Captain Orlando Allard will give his presentation after dinner.

After graduating from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, he became a Towboat Master and Panama Canal Pilot.

He was manager of the Training and Development Section at the Panama Canal Authority and the Panamanian Ambassador to the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

In 2006, he was appointed by the President of the Republic of Panama as the Director of the International Maritime University (UMIP).

Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Navy League Scholarship Fund for three UMIP cadets who receive the school's annual leadership awards.
