Another of Panama's many congregations

The Baha'i Faith, founded in 19th century Iran by Baha'u'llah, preaches the essential worth of and tolerance for all religions, racial unity and the equality of men and women. Nearly 100 years ago, before they had a substantial following in Panama, Baha'i leaders determined that because of this country's geographical position at the Crossroads of the World there should be an important temple here. On a hill overlooking Panama City and San Miguelito, the Baha'i Temple has become an important landmark and a symbol of religious freedom in mostly-Catholic Panama. Photo by Mike Horrell
