Scraping the bottom of the sea to catch shrimp

Here we see satellite photos looking down to the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico, which clearly show the trails scraped on the sea floor by shrimp trawling nets. Trawling is destructive to the habitats of certain bottom-dwelling marine species, and there are various strategies to limit the damage, the main one being the establishment of areas that are protected from this sort of shrimping.
