Here US Navy Commander Sandra Hearn, a nurse, explains the hospital ship USNHS Comfort's mission in Panama. The floating hospital was at Cristobal's Pier 6 for nearly a week, providing medical care for hundreds of needy patients. The stop in Panama was part of a four-month cruise for the Comfort's 250 medical personnel to render health care assistance, including various types of specialized surgery, in Belize, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Suriname and Trinidad-Tobago.
