in this section: ![]() Always something in bloom They call dry season "verano" --- summer --- here, but the description doesn't match the temperate zones' descriptions very well. It might as well be called "fall" or "winter," as a lot of trees shed their leaves and some fauna and flora go into hibernation of sorts. But there is no general shedding of leaves as in a Michigan autumn, nor an apparent general outdoor die-off as in nature's backdrop to the New Hampshire primary. Panama's trees shed leaves at different times, and there are a lot of plants that flower in the dry season. Even if the grass turns a golden brown --- or black from the seasonal fires --- Panama is always colorful, and always has flowers that you should stop and appreciate.
