International Women's Day at the Casa Gongora

photos by José F. Ponce

March 8 is International Women's Day, and one of the local celebrations took place at Casa Gongora, the oldest building in the Casco Viejo (if you don't count structures that are ruins) and now the city government's cultural house. It was a collective show by local artists, and brought about some interesting contacts and contrasts among the upscale art establishment and Casco Viejo residents of much more modest means. Bridging those gaps? The artists themselves, as one might expect.
