 Easter in San Carlos

San Carlos is mostly cholo and overwhelmingly Catholic, although the Pentacostalists at the Assembly of God in town have had a fair measure of success in their evangelizing efforts and the corregimiento of El Espino is an Evangelical bastion. On Easter Sunday the Catholics took over the area around the town's little park, celebrating with likenesses of holy characters, music, colorful flags, confetti, rockets and cherry bombs.
