This one's legal

Usually when you see a utility pole that looks like this in Panama City's corregimiento of Calidonia, it means that somebody is stealing electricity or  cable TV service. And so it seemed to this reporter, who saw three men from a utility company looking up at what in Panamanian popular parlance is a "telaraña" --- literally, "spider's web" but slang for the tangles in which illegal utility connections are concealed. But they said that this wasn't the case, that it was just a bewildering tangle of electrical, phone, cable television and Internet connection wires. Photo by Eric Jackson
