Dear Dr. Mutt,

It’s rainy season here in Panama, and things tend to get moldy, including canines, so I was curing myself by licking the itchy areas. It’s not like I can’t function. I can walk, I can sniff, in fact, I can do everything. I have a little itch, that’s all. However, today I wasn’t prepared for my mistress’s deceit. She called me out earlier than usual for our jaunt around the neighborhood, and I didn’t suspect a thing when we headed in the opposite direction. I was totally absorbed in the walk and didn’t heed the warning signs – distant hollow barking. We entered a sterile place and the mistress commanded me to sit and wait, which I did obediently; but then came the shock. She should have warned me, not that I would have gone willingly, but at least I would have been prepared, and I’m afraid the subsequent humiliation has tainted our relationship – forever! If she tries to take me back there again, there’ll be you-know-what to pay!

Where are your brains? Do you realize what a fungus can do? Do you want to be a leper? You admit you wouldn’t have gone willingly to the vet, so consider yourself fortunate that you have an intelligent and loving mistress who cares about your health and well being more than you do. Now take your medicine like a good dog and thank your mistress.
