could be the stuff of arguments. There are a bunch of Venezuelans who
have come here to get away from the present government of their
country, and to the extent that Venezuelan residents of Panama cast
votes in national elections at the consulate here they tend to vote for
the opposition. But the governments of Panama and Venezuela have
cordial bilateral relations and on July 5 the Venezuelan government
celebrated their nation's existence in a ceremony at the foot of the
statue of the greatest Venezuelan of them all, the Great Liberator
Simón
Bolívar, which is at the center of Plaza Bolivar in the
Casco Viejo.
