visited Panama City to see our port and canal developments, he noticed
some of the architectural similarities between the Casco Viejo and the
French Quarter of New Orleans.
A lot of the wrought iron work in the Casco Viejo was in fact imported from New Orleans. Some of this architecture is being preserved or restored, but recently an unmaintained but ornate old balcony in the New Orleans style came crashing down at the feet of some Casco Viejo pedestrians.
