Reading some of the real estate
and investment scheme propaganda that one will find on the Internet,
you may be given the impression that Panama is this idyllic tropical
paradise with no social problems of any consequence, and, consequently,
no need to consider issues of social responsibility.
Of course, that's a very unrealistic picture that has been created for the purpose of misleading advertising. Yes, we are a tropical paradise, and yes, we are also a Third World country with some serious problems. Here we have a street scene in the city of Colon, near the canal's Atlantic side entrance.
