With this next event we are continuing our objective of bringing you fascinating and insightful speakers on topical subjects. Our speakers are Adrian Benedetti, Executive Director of the Summit Zoo, and Jennifer Simpson of Simpson Furones International, an expert in sustainable development. Their presentation will focus on the history of Summit Zoo and its future development into an eco-tourist destination. Summit Zoo represents a precious resource for Panama. It is unique in that all the animals are indigenous to Panama and many are on the endangered list. As Rosalind Baitel, who most of us know, and who is a Board member of the Summit Zoo, says, “Summit Park is a respite for all of us in Panama from the city life. It is a tranquil place where plants, animals and humans can all co-exist and enjoy the beauty and nature of Panama. We must all work to preserve and improve the park to make it a world class sanctuary for residents and visitors.” This will be an exciting power-point and video presentation that will take us inside the expansion plans for the zoo. We invite you all to come and join us for the start of this season’s Tuesday Talks. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, October 14. Please be there are 9:45 a.m. latest to ensure that we make a prompt start. Regards Laraine and John Chaplin
